There’s a common misconception that travel is expensive. While in some cases, that is true, there are actually many amazing, affordable options out there.
It’s story time
Growing up we were always taught the value of a dollar and how to make the most of every penny spent. We lived frugally but never truly felt like it. We always looked for the best deals but also the best value. When I developed a great interest in travel, I used the same reasonings I had learned and applied it to all my adventures. I’ve been to Myrtle Beach for 4-nights in a suite with airfare for two for $300 and Playa del Carmen for 5 days for $400, but let me tell you a story about my best adventure yet.
In the fall of 2017, my boyfriend and I began looking at Groupon for their travel offers. We were amazing and curious about all they had to offer. When we came across an offer for $599 per person to China, we thought it must be too good to be true, but what do we have to lose? The trip included roundtrip airfare from Chicago, 8 nights lodging, 13 meals, all transportation in China, entrance fees to attractions, and more. I found a Groupon discount code and received $50 off, bringing our grand trip total to $549 each!
The booking process went smooth, and after a long 6-month wait we were finally on our way. We flew with United Airlines on a nonstop flight to Beijing. When we arrived we were met by our tour guide who brought us to our hotel. We stayed in four different hotels in China, and every one was the nicest hotel either of us had stayed in. After a couple days in Beijing, we took a train to Suzhou and spent some time exploring Suzhou, Wuxi, and Hangzhou before traveling to Shanghai. When it came time to say good bye to China, we were brought to the airport and waited for our nonstop flight home, again with United Airlines.
The entire trip was better than we could have imagined. For the price, we assumed our flights would have multiple layovers and our hotels would be small and dirty, but we were very pleasantly surprised.
Travel Agent’s save you money
Using a travel agent can actually save you money. While some may charge a service fee, at NaturalTrek Travel you only pay for what’s included on your itinerary. This means you only pay for what the hotel, cruise, airfare, etc. costs. There are no markups or hidden fees. Often times, we have access to deals and discounts that aren’t available to the public and are able to get you better prices than what you would find on your own. So let us save you both time and money and by researching travel options and making bookings for you.
